
FSQA Technician

- Verify site prerequisites and CCP/CP checks while ensuring good manufacturing practices are followed from incoming raw materials to outgoing finished goods
- Conduct daily pre-op inspections of the area and equipment on all assembly and packaging areas as required.
- Update the environmental swabbing list and prepare weekly listeria sites as required for EMP swabbing according to schedule.
- Conduct all environmental swabbing and product testing programs, including scheduling, lab preparations and collection of samples. Perform test and interpret results
- Prepare and present product for product evaluations to ensure product and customer specifications are met
- Conduct Food Safety Audits on a daily basis including GMP requirements
- Conduct in house audits as required
- Assist corporate Consumer Response team on investigation of consumer complaints and reporting in central database
- Follow through with supplier on all ingredient non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Assist in audit preparations and actively participate in government and company audit and inspection programs
- Assist with employee training, new employee orientation and employee coaching for all Food Safety/GMP and HACCP requirements
- Input all food safety information into the Food Safety metrics in a timely manner
- Promote a positive and professional relationship with CFIA and ensure compliance with all CFIA regulatory requirements
- Perform and participate in mock and actual product recalls
- File all HACCP paperwork, chart data and post information on employee notice board.
- Purchase all lab supplies and consumables as required
- Prepare monthly tasks summary for FSQA Manager
- Conduct other non-routine tasks as requested by Manager
- Complete required tasks in SAP
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field
- Minimum 1-2 years in the food industry including technical and audit experience would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Self-directed and professional
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- Work requires ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs and working in cold conditions
- Ability to work rotating shifts between the hours of 2:00 am-12:30am
