- support internal clients using your business acumen, and strong communication and creative contractual writing skills from your base in either Montreal or Toronto;
- support MHIRJ's Procurement and Advisory teams in contractual negotiations with suppliers and customers, and may be required to travel for that purpose;
- become a partner of choice to participate in the development and deployment of commercial and contractual strategies that MHIRJ (procurement, legal, advisory services, engineering, finance, tax) wishes to adopt with its suppliers and customers.
- ensure compliance with contracts and obtain an interpretation on different contractual provisions which will include several types, such as procurement of goods and services agreements. Your recommendations will impact the day-to-day relationships with our customers and suppliers;
- bring your curious nature and your ability to accept challenges to help us find and integrate best world practices for negotiating, managing and drafting contracts;
- use your ability to identify and anticipate commercial and contractual problems to make you the best coordinator to ensure efficient communication between suppliers and the MHIRJ procurement team, legal counsel, and tax departments and;
- support the development of processes and boilerplates for contracts and governance.
- Minimum of five years' procurement and/or negotiation experience working within the aviation industry.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of leading practices in the legal aspect, strategic sourcing and contracting services
- Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply management processes including competitive bidding, contract management, supplier performance management, and life-cycle costing processes.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution and stakeholder relationship management skills to engage others, build consensus and resolve issues
- Able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficient computer skills with advanced skills on MS Office applications including Excel and Word
- Adaptable to working flex hours including various time zones
- Bilingual English/French would be an asset, since the position will support both lanaguages.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, law or other relevant area.
- CPP, CSCP or PMAC - Purchasing certification would be an asset.
