We're seeking an Image Processing Technician to join our team in Ottawa. In this role, you'll convert high-resolution scanning electron microscope (SEM) images from raster to vector format, creating large-scale, accurate layout representations of integrated circuits for subsequent analysis. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data that forms the foundation of our semiconductor intelligence.WHAT YOU’LL DO
Create Accurate Integrated Circuit Layouts
- Convert high-resolution SEM images from raster to vector format
- Train machine learning models and inspect results
- Set software parameters to automatically recognize objects within SEM images and create GDS layouts
- Perform comparison and correction of GDS layout versus SEM images to ensure quality
- Mosaic SEM images to create grid areas
- Align imaging layers to enable signal tracing between layers
- Complete signal tracing on amalgamated layouts as a quality check
- Set up projects on the internal network for circuit analysis
- Communicate project progress and details to the Project Leader and Manager
- Assist the circuit analysis team with automated transistor extraction (ATE)
- Inspect quality of delayering work
- Assess high-resolution SEM images for quality and imaging accuracy
- Communicate with the lab team regarding image acceptability and provide input when rework is required
- Interface with lab and engineering teams to support continuous improvement
- College Certificate or Diploma in Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to estimate timelines and level of effort
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes
- Strong general computer skills and knowledge of software applications including Microsoft suite and in-house software
- Confidence in identifying connections and structures
