For ambitious recruiters, this role presents an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on business growth, build a specialized skilled trades desk, and contribute to a strategic vision of expansion in the years ahead.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Skilled Trades Recruiter, you will lead the full-cycle recruitment process within the skilled trades sector, driving business growth by connecting top-tier trades professionals with reputable employers across Western Canada. Your responsibilities will include:Business Development & Client Relationship Management:
- Proactively develop and grow a portfolio of clients within construction, industrial, manufacturing, and maintenance sectors
- Build long-term partnerships by understanding workforce needs, advising on market trends, and delivering tailored talent solutions that support client growth.
- Source, screen, interview, and place skilled trades professionals including electricians, millwrights, welders, heavy equipment technicians, and other certified trades.
- Utilize modern sourcing tools, recruitment platforms, referrals, and industry networking to build and maintain a robust candidate pipeline.
- Track labour market trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitor activity within the skilled trades space.
- Provide insights that inform pricing strategy, workforce planning, and expansion initiatives to support overall organizational growth objectives.
- Partner with internal recruiters and leadership to share market insights, cross-sell services, and support broader team targets.
- Contribute to a high-performance culture by mentoring junior team members and actively participating in growth planning initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to candidates, guiding them through the hiring process with professionalism and transparency.
- Strengthen the organization's reputation in the skilled trades community through consistent engagement, networking events, and relationship-building.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is considered an asset.
- 2-5+ years of experience in recruitment, staffing, or business development; experience in skilled trades or industrial recruitment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM platforms, and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Strong understanding of skilled trades certifications, apprenticeship structures, and workforce requirements in Western Canada is an asset.
- Strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills.
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage both candidates and senior-level clients.
- High level of accountability, resilience, and entrepreneurial drive.
