- Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment and ability commensurate with technical positions in similar industries or situations.
- Performs relatively complex drafting tasks in preparing various drawings of intricately designed parts and assemblies/prepares several views.
- Makes mathematics computations using standard formulas/calculates dimensions, allowances and technical specifications.
- Makes final drawings from instruction or revisions indicating dimension of parts, quantities of materials to be used, load capacities, etc.
- Recognizes needs for and performs simple computer design customization.
- Initiates Engineering Notices when required and generates complete Bills of Material.
- Interacts with product engineering department to determine revisions required, or the establishment of new drawing specifications.
- Produce parts and assemblies in 3D and generate required 2D drawings
- Co-ordinate with suppliers to ensure that incoming parts are to current revisions
- Incoming inspections as required for first offs and new supplier qualification
- Work with senior designers and team of engineers
- Community college Mechanical Engineering Technology certificate or equivalent.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum of supervision
