Your role is considered medium flexibility, requiring you to work onsite 1-3 days per week at our office at 151 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.Reporting to the SVP, Chief Technology & Digital Officer the VP, Data Management & Business Intelligence is responsible for a unified, reliable, and timely source of data that supports consistent historical, operational, and predictive analytics across the Aviso. The VP, Data Management & Business Intelligence will lead efforts to structure data in a way that enables a single source of truth, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and reliability. Additionally, this role will also implement a structure to support & service the data requirements of our business partners and to champion the further adoption of data analytics & data science.Who you are:

What your day looks like:
  • Develop a strong partnership with business stakeholders to assess current and develop future program strategy, while leveraging new technologies to meet business needs
  • Define a enterprise data management strategy encompassing a multi-year roadmap aligned to corporate objectives
  • Establish a structure & service model to effectively & seamlessly provide data reporting services to our business partners (internal & external)
  • Develop relationships with senior leadership stakeholders across the business to understand their opportunities & challenges
  • Proactively provide recommendations and solutions to business partners
  • Define and manage the analytical vision, priorities and strategy, and owning goals, outcomes and key results of the company working with other divisions and stakeholders for data engineering, data management, data governance, data integrations, and enterprise reporting
  • Drive the implementation of advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and predictive modeling, to enhance customer insights and business predictions
  • Lead in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor performance, and consumer preferences to inform strategic decision-making
  • Identify tools needed to expand data literacy & proficiency
  • Provide oversight for data management projects, policies, and procedures
  • Recommend improvements to the process both in terms of data collection, data consumption and storage
  • Prioritize and execute business needs around data-driven insights
  • Build and manage data governance and change management processes to ensure compliance
RequirementsYour experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing complex reporting initiatives
  • Experience with modern cloud data warehouse & data lake technologies (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Google BigQuery, etc.).
  • 10+ years of experience leading, designing, delivering with data architecture, data platforms, or analytics solutions
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, data management & analytics principles
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and analytics platforms
  • Proven experience managing cloud data platform
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively
  • Experience in driving data governance initiatives and establishing data quality standards
  • Ability to create and manage strategy to communicate how data can be utilized to support overall business goals and objectives
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence executive leadership to create and market strategy to internal teams
  • Proven track record of leading and developing team members in breakthrough goals and strategy
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
