- Provide Engineering Design, review, and analysis of EV Charging infrastructure projects
- Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time, define customer needs and requirements
- Produce detailed CAD drawings for the electrical design, including Single Line Diagrams, electrical details, wiring diagrams, underground cable details, site layouts for EV charging stations, and other projects as required
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers, designers, and CAD staff as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Complete electrical calculations, cable schedules, demand load calculations, etc.
- Carry out site assessments and surveys, to determine project feasibility
- Prepare site assessment reports, cost estimates, material take-offs
- Submit applications for Utility, ESA, and City permits if required
- Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
- Perform quality and performance analysis on new and legacy depots we installed or maintain
- Summarize data and report on test results
- Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets
- Travel to project sites for product reliability evaluation and/or failure root cause analysis
- Travel to engineering/manufacturing facilities to review product design and manufacture, and to field sites to review installation, operation, and maintenance
- Manage stakeholder relationships to develop new business opportunities and promote complementary services
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years work experience in commercial and industrial sector, or equivalent
- Proficiency designing electrical & power distribution systems in AutoCAD or Revit, with Revit being preferred
- Experienced in coordinating with Utility for transformer/power upgrades and primary/secondary service infrastructure
- Perform electrical engineering study & breaker settings (EasyPower, SKM, ETAP), perform electrical lighting calculations (photometrics and comcheck)
- Must have experience in project management of engineering design projects.
- Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- Must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng. PEO) required.
- Engineering license in other provinces would be an asset.
- Driver's license.
