The research coordinator be responsible for the daily operations of the MH biobank to ensure operational efficiency and workflow. This would include coordinating consent and performing administrative activities such as scheduling and communication.Organizational StatusThe Research coordinator will report directly to Dr Stewart and Dr Sassi. They will liaise with the BC Children’s Hospital Biobank, Healthy Minds administrative clerks and BCCH Mental health research program.Work Performed· Coordinate operations and timelines for the MH biobank recruitment, including communications with Healthy Minds booking clerks, quality and administrative staff, including scheduling volunteers, prioritizing which families to be approached first, organize and upkeep documentation and materials, and aligning workflow with booking clerks.· Communicate with admin staff regarding required supply replenishment· Oversee volunteers for consent/assent and biosample collection· Train and prepare volunteers for the Mental Health biobank· Coordinate with the BCCH Biobank team for biosample transfer· Maintain accurate up-to-date documentation and records for the MH biobank· Ensures that all requirements at all institutional levels are met and maintained for biosample management· Perform consenting/assenting and biosample collection· Assist with manual data entry to related database· Foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and high-quality professionalism within the Mental Health biobank recruitment team (including volunteers)· Serve as a positive representative of the BCCH Mental Health Research team· Assist with recruitment, check eligibility and consent as appropriate for other BCCH Mental health research studies· Performs other related duties as required within the BCCH Mental health research team (potentially including participation in weekly team meetings)Consequence of Error/JudgementThe Research Coordinator is required to conduct all research activities in an ethical manner. Patient confidentiality must be respected when dealing with patient data. Errors made could influencecompromise the results of research projects, and therefore impact the credibility of the investigators. As data and results may be disseminated to other research partners, their results and credibility can be negatively influenced by the researcher's errorSupervision ReceivedRegular direction and supervision will be provided by Dr. Stewart.
