- Sets up machines for daily production to cover all aspects of the production line.
- Removes products failing visual inspection from production.
- Keeps the line clean and free of debris at all times, ensuring safety.
- Operates machines with minimal stoppage.
- Sets up machines as needed with appropriate products, collects all product parameters and follows startup, changeover and closing procedures.
- Continually ensures machine integrity and quality and appearance of products. Makes constant checks by visually inspecting and monitoring control screens. Makes necessary adjustments as needed.
- Reports any equipment malfunction immediately to the production line manager.
- Records weight or products checks; performs machinery output checks; completes downtime report forms (for machine problems), as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of machinery and work area. Practices and adheres to food safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and health and safety procedures.
- Assists in other areas of the department as needed.
- Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Permits/Licenses/Certifications: Costco Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience operating high speed food manufacturing equipment, such as Rondo Line, Rheon line, Rademaker line, Fritsch line, industrial dough mixers, blenders, cake line, industrial ovens, freezers and automated packaging line is preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills are an asset.
- Organizational skills and an eye for detail is an asset.
