Dialysis Technician - MRHH Hemodialysis

- The maintenance and ongoing quality assurance of the equipment used in the hemodialysis unit including all hemodialysis machines and water treatment systems used for hemodialysis.
- Ensuring that all equipment meets current CSA, ISO and other hemodialysis standards.
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled service interventions including all preventive maintenance procedures.
- The technical support of hemodialysis staff at the patient bedside and within various locations throughout the hospital and its remote/satellite locations.
- Providing in-services to nursing and other allied healthcare staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or dialysis technology.
- Current, relevant technical knowledge and expertise with hemodialysis machines with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Knowledge of Artis and Artis Physio machines are an asset.
- Manufacturer’s training certificates are an asset.
- Technical knowledge and expertise in a variety of different water treatment systems such as: Marcor/Biolab systems, DWA and Baxter single portable RO’s, CWP 100 and 800 systems
- Clinical knowledge in hemodialysis and different types of dialysis modalities.
- Mechanical knowledge and a solid understanding of physics, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- The physical ability to lift and handle supplies and equipment independently with weights of up to 35 kg
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with effective multidisciplinary teamwork capabilities.
- Proven attendance record.

- Certification by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) preferred.
- Candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and a vehicle and be able to travel between hospital sites.
