- Take ownership of category performance, including sales growth, margin management, inventory levels, and service standards.
- Develop and implement effective category strategies that align with the organization's wholesale growth objectives.
- Manage supplier partnerships, focusing on pricing negotiations, rebate programs, and promotional funding.
- Oversee pricing decisions and margin strategies across various categories.
- Drive product assortment optimization, rationalization, and the introduction of new items.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as supply chain, operations, finance, marketing, and ecommerce to enhance business outcomes.
- Analyze sales, cost, and inventory data to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate potential risks.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer, Category Manager, or in a merchandising role within foodservice, wholesale, or B2B distribution.
- Proven expertise in supplier negotiations and understanding of vendor programs and funding.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, market, and inventory data.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with merchandising or procurement systems.
- Solid commercial and financial acumen to support strategic decision-making.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
