About the Job:The Senior Space Planner is a key associate on the Merchandise Planning and Allocation team. This role is responsible for owning the planning of category releases and execution of planograms, timelines, and shelf space analysis to fully align with category strategy, planogram standards and return on space goals. Has ownership of driving the space decision making process and production of planograms for category releases, ad-hoc optimization, store request projects as well as planner/drive aisle as necessary.Space Planners are responsible for item shelf placement and optimal item shelf capacity to ensure most productive skus are in the planogram. Adjusting for various planogram sizes is also a critical component of this role. The Senior Space Planner will report to the Senior Manager of Space and Assortment Optimization and work closely and communicate with Buyers and cross-functional teams to achieve overall category objectives that allow the POD to maximize their space productivity and make sound, effective decisions based on consistent and accurate information. Additionally, they support the overall divisional strategy, vision, policies, resources, and execution plans to align to the PetSmart localization strategy and needs of the pet parent.Major Responsibilities
- Implements strategies to drive category productivity and financial performance (sales, margin, market share). Leads analysis that drives localized assortment decisions and supports team’s strategy, financial plan and space productivity goals
- Create, monitor, maintain, and communicate all planograms for assigned business categories. Actively manage the end-to-end of category releases, leveraging the Merchandising Process (Step 1.0- Step 9.0). Lead the scheduling of merchandising process meetings with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with Buyers/Merchandise Planners/Manager of Space to ensure alignment to assortment and design of planograms and accountable to the strategy being implemented in all versions of planograms.
- Conduct analysis utilizing centralized reporting from CKB (Data Manager, AO) and Alteryx to support merchandising and the general business. Generate adhoc reporting as necessary to provide pre and post planogram and space performance analysis. Incorporate external data sources as available such as Nielsen, Numerator as necessary, building planograms to reflect industry and market trends.
- Develop planograms utilizing JDA/ Blue Yonder Space Planning, ensure planograms sync seamlessly with floor planning, incorporating fixture, signage elements and visual merchandising needs. Lead the communication of planogram execution through POG notes and monthly playbook materials. Support store execution by resolving POG issues in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of JDA Space Planning experience
- This role requires collaboration, teamwork, and face-to-face interaction with colleagues, leaders, and/or clients.
