- Maintain and organize data across the data lake, shared drives, raw file zones, and structured storage environments.
- Implement and enforce data organization standards, naming conventions, folder structures, and retention policies.
- Ensure data lineage, metadata, and documentation are consistently captured and maintained.
- Support data governance initiatives by helping classify, tag, and secure data appropriately.
- Manage ingestion, movement, and lifecycle of raw files and datasets across environments.
- Monitor data pipelines and storage systems to ensure availability, accuracy, and completeness of data.
- Coordinate with data engineers to troubleshoot ingestion issues, missing files, or data quality anomalies.
- Oversee backup schedules, restore processes, and long-term archival strategies.
- Support the operational health of the data lake (e.g., ADLS), including folder structures, permissions, and storage optimization.
- Maintain shared drives and file repositories, ensuring they remain organized, secure, and compliant.
- Assist with capacity planning, storage monitoring, and cost optimization across data platforms.
- Prepare, structure, and organize datasets required for AI model development and analytics.
- Ensure timely availability of raw and curated data for experimentation and production workloads.
- Collaborate with data engineers to streamline data flows and reduce operational friction.
- Help the AI team access, understand, and navigate available datasets.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data operations tasks.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and documentation for data handling processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data lifecycle management practices.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred: ADLS, Azure Storage, Synapse, Databricks, etc.).
- Strong understanding of file-based data management, folder structures, metadata, and data lifecycle concepts.
- Familiarity with backup/restore processes, archival strategies, and storage governance.
- Ability to work with technical teams (AI, data engineering) and translate operational needs into structured workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills and a passion for clean, well-structured data environments.
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Exposure to data cataloging tools (Purview, Collibra, etc.).
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting ML/AI workflows or analytics teams.
