To read more about our family of Brands, check out our website .As a Web Engineer, you'll play a vital role in developing and maintaining our Wattpad website and application. We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in the development and maintenance of our web applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of front-end technologies and a passion for building innovative and user-friendly web applications.Please note this is a 14-month fixed term employment contract position.What you'll be doing:
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to bring web features from concept to production
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and responsive front-end code
  • Implement and optimize front-end performance, including load times, responsiveness, and accessibility
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies
  • Work across functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems
What we're looking for:
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a frontend engineer
  • You possess strong proficiency in front-end software development tools and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • You have experience building modern web applications in React and
  • You enjoy working with a team, but have no problem working independently
  • You have passion for building innovative, engaging and accessible web applications
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with server side rendering (SSR )javascript frameworks such as Remix and
  • Experience migrating legacy code bases to modern tech stacks
  • Experience with frontend CI/CD pipelines and automation
