- Responsibility for a book of business comprised of Aon C&I clients. These clients can be local, national, or include global contractors with Canadian operations.
- As the primary point of contact for construction industry clients, the colleague will be responsible for understanding their unique risk management and insurance needs to tailor an insurance program to the risk profile of the business.
- Managing the 120-day Renewal Process including preparing the renewal report, presenting to client for approval, obtaining the binding order, and reviewing policy documentation and delivering to client in a timely manner
- Reviewing of claims and managing the client expectations around claims handling
- Working with C&I colleagues to develop and complete strategies that grow Aon’s presence in the building and infrastructure industry across British Columbia and Canada. This is done in coordination with the National C&I team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry associations, insurer partners, clients, and prospects.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues within the Vancouver office, C&I (Canada, North America and Global) and the broader Aon network to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting construction firms.
- Discover opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling Aon’s suite of services.
- Represent Aon at industry events, conferences, and association meetings to expand professional network and brand presence.
- Monitoring client accounts receivable statements, and collecting outstanding premium owing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in risk management and insurance, ideally with a focus on the construction industry.
- Construction-specific experience from a renewable and project specific perspective
- Post-secondary education in business, insurance, risk management, or equivalent years of work experience in a relevant industry.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams and across a matrix organization.
- Active involvement in industry associations and a strong professional network within the construction sector.
- Ability to travel within British Columbia and occasionally across Canada, the US or Europe as required.
- Insurance License Level One or professional designations in (CIP, CRM, etc.) are an asset.
