- Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering railway signaling projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope.
- Plan, coordinate and ensure site access with rail corridor access team are successful
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging innovation, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and technical records.
- Identify and report project risks or issues and collaborate with senior team members to develop solutions.
- Prepare and present project updates and technical documentation for leadership.
- Manage project risks, troubleshooting issues to minimize impact on safety and operations.
- Plan, set objectives and control activities during the development phase and execution of the project in conjunction with the design integration and means and methods construction teams.
- Manage all aspects related to internal and external stakeholders as the project moves through its life cycle. Ensuring review timelines, comments and integration of these comments are met and agreed.
- Drive the integration of all disciplines supporting the design and execution of the work.
- Manage critical paths/milestones, by monitoring mechanisms for projects (e.g., budget, schedule, scope, quality); regularly reports to Manager on project status.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment; ensure project teams, contractors and trades comply with health, safety and environmental standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements.
- Heavily involved in construction planning to ensure operations of live rail corridor is maintained and identification of key risks and opportunities to deliver project.
- Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive project management services associated with the planning, design, and delivery of Train Control System, station infrastructure, and related work is an asset
- Project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls, to lead and direct cross functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects (e.g. development, project progress, related staff, and project resources) and monitor project activities for adherence to timelines, budgets, and project performance objectives.
- Experience with vendor management to evaluate project tenders and review consultant proposals.
- Knowledge of budgetary processes and cost and schedule management
- Knowledge of railway corridor infrastructure and related construction projects
- Problem solving skills to analyze issues and provide solutions during the project lifecycle.
- Influencing skills to establish effective working relationships, negotiate, and deal with a variety of contacts, both internal and external to the organization; along with the ability to gain cooperation from individuals not under direct authority.
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity to liaise with all levels within the organization and on construction sites.
