If you love music and are excited about joining this amazing organization, we would love to meet you!Marketing ManagerThe UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, the Marketing Manager contributes to a positive work environment with an emphasis on a ‘team’ concept. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative and energetic people leader with a passion for music. Core functions involve supporting the Marketing team’s efforts in the development and management of artist brand strategy campaigns to increase awareness, fan engagement, and consumption around an artist’s body of work.How You'll Lead:Lead all aspects of artist projects end to end, including but not limited to; music release strategy, brand development, digital strategy, content marketing, advertising and experiential events.Develop and execute disruptive marketing campaigns for a roster of domestic artists. This role blends cultural intelligence, content innovation, and fan-first thinking to build campaigns that spark discovery, ignite fandom, and drive commercial impact across streaming and physical formatsCollaborate with the A&R, Promotion, Creative, eCommerce, Digital, Creator Strategy and Publicity teams on rollout plans to maximize opportunities and exposure for each artist projectCollaborate closely with A&R & the Commercial Partnerships team to strategically map out long term music release plans for new music while maximizing artists' catalogue.Design holistic digital strategies—including short-form content and viral activations—that amplify each release and expand reach across core fans and new audiencesWork closely with the assigned Content Creator & Creative teams to create compelling short and long-form creative that is aligned with the artists brand while focusing on bringing in new audiences and engaging and rewarding current fans.Activate superfans across fan-forward platforms like Discord, Reddit, and Twitter/X—fuelling grassroots momentum and creating digital word-of-mouth at scaleConduct weekly comprehensive digital performance audits on assigned artists to measure momentum on social, CRM and streaming platforms.Identify viral opportunities and lead quick-strike marketing initiatives to capitalize on real-time cultural momentsWork closely with the creator marketing team to deliver campaigns cohesive with the digital strategy and overall artist positioning propositionMonitor campaign performance in real-time and make agile, data-informed optimizations to maximize engagement and conversionPlan, budget, and launch targeted ad campaigns that effectively engage desired audiences and strengthen market presenceWork hand-in-hand with artists and managers to anticipate needs, deliver solutions, and ensure seamless executionConduct post-campaign deep dives to surface insights, learnings, and benchmarks that inform smarter, sharper future campaignsCollaboration with CRM and Paid Media leads to craft omni-channel fan journeys that drive retention, growth, and first-party data capturePartner with D2C and Commerce teams to launch high-converting physical product drops, integrating marketing strategy with merch, vinyl, and collector releasesCoordinate with artist management and internal stakeholders to shape and maintain a unified editorial calendar across all social platformsWork hand-in-hand with Creative & Content teams to ensure all content—from short-form video to interactive design—feels cohesive, intentional, and on-brand across the campaign ecosystemOther duties and projects as assignedWhat You Bring:3-5 years of marketing experience in the creative industryPost-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, music, media and/or entertainmentExperience creating and leading marketing campaigns and overall projectsKnowledgeable about how the music business operates and about the evolving digital & streaming landscapeAbility to work within assigned budgets & timelinesExceptional communication skills, organizational, planning and priority setting skillsProficiency in Photoshop and Premier for photo and video editing is an assetFlexibility to work weekends and eveningsPositivity, passion, a competitive edge, and opinions you can stand behindBold, ambitious, creative thinking; an entrepreneurial style and a growth mindsetExcellent communication skills anchored by honesty, approachability, and an open mindWhat We Offer:Competitive Compensation Package includes, benefits, Pension Plan, Savings plan with company matching2-week paid Winter BreakSummer FridaysMedical, Dental, Vision and Mental Health SupportEmployee Ticket BoxWellness ProgramUniversal Music Canada is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and strongly welcomes and encourages applications from Indigenous Peoples, people of colour, women, persons with disabilities, people who are 2SLGBTQIA+, and people from other diverse communities.
