Job Description:Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturing company specializing in high-quality production for global brands. As they continue to expand their customer base across North America, they are strengthening their leadership team with a Controller who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and hands-on environment.This is an onsite role, working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and senior leadership to support accurate financial reporting and drive strong business performance.Position OverviewReporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will have deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership capability, and extensive experience in project-based accounting. The ideal candidate is a CPA with IFRS knowledge, has strong analytical skills, and brings proven experience in percentage-of-completion, revenue recognition, full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Candidates with experience in the food manufacturing or CPG industries and hands-on SAP knowledge will be strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Month-End Close

Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with IFRS.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.

Project Accounting & Revenue Recognition

Manage project accounting including percentage-of-completion calculations, contract costing, and profitability tracking.
Apply and document revenue recognition in alignment with IFRS guidelines.
Partner with cross-functional teams to track project milestones, budgets, variances, and forecasts.

Full-Cycle Accounting

Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
Maintain cost accounting structures and support product costing and inventory valuations.
Review AP, AR, and payroll entries for accuracy and compliance.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

Lead annual budgeting and recurring forecasting processes.
Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
Present results, trends, and risk/opportunity assessments to leadership teams.

Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
Collaborate onsite with operations managers, plant leadership, and project teams.
Drive continuous improvement in processes, controls, financial systems, and reporting.

Systems & Tools

Utilize SAP for general ledger, costing, and project reporting.
Enhance system utilization for automation, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ensure data integrity across financial and production systems.

Requirements:Qualifications

CPA designation required (must be in good standing with CPA Ontario. This will be verified prior to presentation to client).
Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing food production, consumer goods, or contract manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion methodologies (experience in transitioning from ASPE to IFRS is an asset).
Proven experience in financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Hands-on experience with SAP is preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, influence, and collaborate across functions.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.
