- Improve equipment uptime by reducing technical downtime, addressing safety concerns, minimizing waste, and enhancing overall team performance.
- Provide technical consultation, analysis, and evaluation of automation systems, advanced manufacturing methods, and equipment-related issues.
- Manage maintenance inventory, including ordering, organizing, and issuing spare parts, with a focus on high-value and critical components to ensure immediate repair availability.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives within Maintenance.
- Act as a key technical resource to Maintenance and Production teams for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
- Develop and maintain work instructions to support TPM and Preventive Maintenance programs.
- Support the commissioning and startup of new equipment and systems, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption to operations.
- Contribute to mechanical and system improvements through TPM, PM, and capital expenditure projects.
- Apply electrical and mechanical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing issues impacting equipment reliability.
- Ensure maintenance standards align with plant objectives, cost targets, and customer requirements.
- Track and report KPIs, including Mean Time Between Failure, Mean Time to Repair, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Support training and development of maintenance technicians, including onboarding and upskilling initiatives.
- Maintain availability to respond to critical equipment failures outside of standard working hours as required.
- Provide off-shift coverage when necessary, including during technician absences or vacations.
- Oversee contractor activities, particularly during scheduled shutdowns, ensuring work is completed safely and effectively.
- Drive improvements in facility safety systems, safeguards, and equipment reliability.

- 3–5 years of experience leading a maintenance team in a 24/5 manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with solid mechanical, electrical, and mathematical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, hands-on, and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate results-driven leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Hands-on technical experience in:
- Mechanical assembly and machine repair
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- PLCs, robotics, and control systems
- Manual machining (considered an asset)
- Experience using CAD software.
- Trade certification (e.g., Industrial Millwright 433A or Industrial Electrician 442A).
- 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience working in a 24/5 or similar manufacturing environment with on-call responsibilities.
- SAP experience for maintenance planning, parts management, and work order tracking.
