  • Safely operate a smaller accessible vehicle designed for transporting passengers with mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs, scooters).
  • Follow scheduled routes but remain flexible for door-to-door pickups and drop-offs based on bookings.
  • Stops at designated points to load and/or unload passengers.
  • Maintains a strong attendance record.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist passengers in boarding, securing mobility devices, disembarking safely and in challenging weather conditions.
  • Provide courteous, compassionate and personnalized customer service and information about routes and schedules.
  • Follow traffic laws, transit policies, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and incidents.
  • Collect fares or manage fare system validation.
  • Assumes any and all other duties assigned.

Your Profile
  • You have a valid Class 1, Class 2 or Class 4 Unrestricted license with air brakes endorsement.
  • You have a clear driver abstract and adherence to safety regulations.
  • You possess experience in operating accessible vehicles (e.g., wheelchair lifts, securement systems).
  • You have strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • You have the ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
  • You possess good knowledge of city streets, traffic patterns and transit policies.
  • You demonstrate strong physical condition and the stamina required to operate a bus for extended periods
  • You are in compliance with background checks, medical fitness assessments, and drug screening.
You are reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work a variety of shift.Your Location
  • This is a casual, unionized position located in Salmon Arm.
  • Shifts are subject to frequent changes based on operational needs.
