Duration: Multi-YearOverview:We are currently seeking an experienced QA/Construction Electrical Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a major construction project within Edmonton's city limits. This role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of quality control for all electrical aspects of our heavy industrial project. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction electrical work, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in quality assurance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Implement and oversee comprehensive quality assurance and control procedures for electrical installations and systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordination and Supervision: Coordinate and supervise electrical construction activities, ensuring they meet project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations. Facilitate communication between project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical work to verify compliance with design specifications and quality requirements. Address and resolve any deficiencies promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit regular reports on electrical quality issues, progress, and compliance to project management.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to provide expert advice and support on electrical construction matters. Assist in the development and refinement of electrical designs and specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving electrical construction processes and practices. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction electrical work, with a strong focus on quality assurance and control in heavy industrial projects.
  • Certifications: Professional certification in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and/or Electrical Safety is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Profound knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in quality inspection tools and testing equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
