Electrician

• Routine repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems including CNC controlled lathes and mills, welders, fabrication equipment, etc.
• Retro-fit of CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, and multi-axis mill/turns.
• Familiarity with CNC controls (Heidenhain, Haas, Fanuc and Fagor amongst others).
• Electrical installation of new equipment including power drops, panel builds, co-ordinating with ESA, upgrading equipment manufactured to foreign electrical standards, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code along with related schematics and symbols.
• Experience with servo motors and controls, frequency drives, sensors, AC and DC motors, etc. and how they relate to electrical systems.
• Understanding of PLCs and basic programming skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical principles such as pneumatics and hydraulics and troubleshooting those systems.
• Strong trouble shooting ability for CNC equipment, able to trace issues back to cause and effect repairs.
• Comfortable with the use of computers and software to assist with daily activities.
• Team based mentality and able to assist with training of apprentices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
