
Electrical Engineering Technologist

- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using REVIT and/or AutoCAD software.
- Conduct tests and inspections of electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technologists to implement design modifications and improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all electrical designs, modifications, and testing results.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and project teams.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and code requirements.
- Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, cable sizing, underground infrastructure design, lighting simulations and calculations, specifications and general project documentation.
- General understanding of AECOM procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
- Required ability to manage, organize and participate in multiple work assignments including production support of contract documents as required.
- Assist in the team achieving engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, and reports) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures, and sound engineering practices.
- College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field + no less than 2 (two) years of experience in an electrical technologist role.
- Proficient with REVIT modelling and AutoCAD software.
- Holding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearance
- Prefer at least 5 or more years experience in an electrical technologist role.
- Holding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearance
- Certification or eligibility for certification with OACETT (Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Ontario).
- Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes and standards (e.g., CEC, NEC).
- Knowledge of the CAN/ULC Standards related to Fire Alarm design, installation, and verification.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
