Find your future with us.Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a highly accountable and proactive Experienced or Senior Environment, Health and Safety Specialist (EHS), reporting to the EHS Manager, working out of the Petawawa or Ottawa, ON office.The Environment, Health and Safety Specialist will lead employees' health and safety efforts for the local team supporting the MHLH (Medium-to-Heavy Lift Helicopter) Program. This program supports the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) fleet of CH147F Chinook Helicopters and other programs within the region.This role reports functionally to the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The candidate will support the local MHLH Program Manager for all EHS requirements, including risk identification and management, Ontario regulatory engagement, health and safety support for managers and employees, and leadership of audits and safety committees.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Petawawa or Ottawa, ON office.Position Responsibilities:Plan, implement, and assess occupational health and safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.Develop and deliver training and guidance; interpret and advise on emerging issues, regulations, and legislation impacting program operations.Evaluate and recommend risk management control technologies.Lead internal and external audits, inspections, and investigations; coordinate resolution of identified issues.Develop corrective action plans in response to audit and inspection findings.Collaborate with program management to facilitate risk management decisions.Analyze emerging technologies to identify potential hazards and control methods.Foster a strong safety reporting culture within the local team by facilitating workshops, joint health and safety committee meetings, and partnering with Human Resources to support employee well-being.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience working in the Health and Safety fieldExperience in investigation, risk analysis, and safety programStrong knowledge of relevant Ontario legislation and regulations, e.g., Human Rights Codes (HRC), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA)Able and willing to travel up to 25% domesticallyMust be legally able to work in CanadaMust be willing and eligible to work on Canadian government and defense-related programsMust consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessmentIndividual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goodsMust be eligible for Secret Level II security clearanceMust be eligible to handle US export-controlled dataPreferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):7+ years of experience working in the Health and Safety field5+ years of experience in aerospace or manufacturing environmentActive Secret Level II Security ClearancePost-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Human Resources or related disciplineProfessional designation or equivalent certificationJoint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Training Program certificationExperience with Workers Compensation claims managementStrong organizational and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.Conflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Additional Information:This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada.
