Job Description:An established and respected legal firm is seeking an experienced and driven Associate Lawyer (Personal Injury) to join their growing practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled lawyer to bring their expertise to a dynamic team dedicated to providing top-tier legal services to clients in personal injury matters.The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of personal injury files, engage with clients, provide expert advice, and work collaboratively on complex issues that make a real difference in people's lives.Key Responsibilities
  • Handle a variety of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, long-term disability claims, and other liability matters.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation through all stages of the client relationship, from initial consultations to resolution.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, settlement proposals, and trial briefs.
  • Conduct negotiations and mediations with opposing counsel to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Appear before courts and tribunals as required for trial work or hearings.
  • Maintain client contact and provide regular updates on case progress.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to ensure strategic case handling.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, including legal assistants, clerks, and fellow lawyers, to manage cases effectively.
Requirements:QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.B. degree and be in good standing with the [Law Society of Province/State].
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience practicing personal injury law.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently from start to finish, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of personal injury law, legal procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Outstanding written advocacy, negotiation, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to analyze and solve complex legal issues.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
