The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contract execution, negotiating modifications, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and mitigating risks associated with contractual obligations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of industry standards. Additionally, the Contract Manager / Commercial Lead will act as a commercial lead, supporting business development in developing strategies to help the business achieve growth and stay competitive.Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies for procurement and deliveryManage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts and dealsProvide contractual advice and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to contract administrationIdentify and manage risks associated with contractual obligationsReview, draft, and negotiate contracts to protect the organization's interests while minimizing risk exposureManage contract performance and identify potential issues or disputes early on to prevent costly litigationProvide guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding contract interpretation and implementationConduct thorough analysis of contract data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in contract negotiation and administration practicesDevelop strategies to help the business grow and stay competitive, working with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction and engagementRequired Qualifications & Experience:Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolMembership in good standing with a provincial or territorial law societyMinimum of five years of experience in contract managementStrong knowledge of legal principles and concepts relevant to contract formation, interpretation, and enforcementNegotiation skills: Secure favorable contracts and dealsAbility to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal professionalsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management softwareDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentFinancial acumen: Understand financial concepts and interpret financial dataExcellent problem-solving skillsAnalytical thinking: Analyze complex data and make strategic decisionsStrategic vision: Develop strategies to help the business grow and stay competitiveCustomer-centric focus: Prioritize the needs of customersGlobal perspective: Consider the needs of customers worldwideThe ideal candidate would also be proficient in using AI tools and technologies to leverage AI to enhance contract management processes, improve decision-making, and drive business growthBilingualism in French & English is requiredCAE offers:An environment where your initiatives will be recognized and valuedThe opportunity to work on a variety of projects on a multidisciplinary teamThe possibility to work from home occasionallyFlexible schedulesAttractive employee benefitsAbout CAEAt CAE, we equip people in critical roles with the expertise and solutions to create a safer world.
