We offer competitive wages with a full benefits plan, as well as optional RSP plans.The OpportunityWe are currently looking to hire a Journeyperson Welder for our manufacturing facilities in Slave Lake, Alberta. Job duties include:
Operating flame-cutting equipment to cut metal in a safe and efficient manner
Fabricating parts and structures by bending, cutting and binding together metal components
Reading and interpreting work orders including welding specifications
Performing minor maintenance duties such as shortening chains or replacing belts
Stocking torch carts and auditing that equipment is in safe, working condition
Completing all required paperwork including hot work permits, hazard assessments and work orders
Working Conditions:
Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazards
Lifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment may be required
Required use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditions
Must have:
Journeyperson Welder certification
A minimum of 3-5 years of industrial experience, preferably working in a sawmill
A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team player
An interest in becoming a journeyperson millwright
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work at different heights
The desire to work a Thursday - Sunday shift schedule (44 hours per week)
