A fresh culinary experience is coming to CF Toronto Eaton Centre with the arrival of Queen’s Cross, a new chef-driven dining concept created in partnership with Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality (O&B). Slated to open in spring 2024, Queen’s Cross will transform 19,000 square feet of the south side of the shopping centre into a modern-day food emporium with seating to accommodate 300 guests. Job DescriptionOur food hall members show inspired quality in all of their work. Their passion for food and cooking is infectious and they have a desire to serve the best every time. Cleanliness is maintained throughout service and they gladly honour guest special requests. An ability to work independently and as part of a team is important while creating an exceptional experience for all. They are fanatical about cleanliness and pay close attention to detail.The Day to Day:
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any guest request or concern
  • Perform delegated tasks from Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
  • Day to day food preparation of the restaurant according to standard
  • Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specification as set by the restaurant
  • Maintain a prep list of station duties
  • Follow the FIFO method to maximize freshness
  • Assist in food inventory and control
  • Assist in properly receiving and storing delivered items
  • Clean food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
  • Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • High attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
  • 1-2 years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant.
  • Culinary diploma/degree is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Able to spend 100% of the time standing.
  • Experience in a similar environment an asset
