Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Fleet Operations.Reporting to the Director, Fleet Operations, this position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to nuclear sites and support organizations, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards. The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations oversees key programs, workforce planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the strategic objectives of OPG Nuclear.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide leadership and direction to nuclear sites and support organizations to drive strategic operational improvements and long-term performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate site performance through self-assessments, KPI analysis, and field observations to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Facilitate strategic workforce planning and develop staffing strategies to meet business and leadership needs.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Operations Training Department to define training needs and develop effective staff competency programs.
  • Benchmark fleet performance against industry leaders and support program changes via change management strategies.
  • Balance workload and optimize resource utilization to support continuous improvement and achieve top-quartile performance.
  • Support key programs such as Heavy Water Management, Work Protection, and Nuclear Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Certified by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) as a Control Room Shift Supervisor, or previously held certification as a Control Room Shift Supervisor or Authorized Nuclear Operator.
  • Minimum 8 years of related working experience in nuclear operations, plant management, or a similar high-reliability environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles with direct accountability for operational performance.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement workforce planning and training initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of benchmarking, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and operational excellence in the nuclear industry.
