About the Role We are seeking a System & Network Administrator to support and optimize our IT infrastructure across a multi-site environment. This hands-on onsite role is responsible for ensuring strong network performance, reliable systems, and secure operations. This is a 6-month contract with potential to convert to permanent. Location: Toronto, ON – Fully onsite; some travel required. Key Responsibilities: IT Infrastructure & Operations · Administer and maintain network infrastructure, servers, desktops, and related hardware/software. · Plan and manage backups, disaster recovery, and system continuity. · Monitor system health, network activity, and cyber security alerts. · Support and implement network and computing infrastructure enhancements. · Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, and licenses. System Administration · Manage Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, user accounts, and permissions. · Configure and monitor firewalls, VPNs, and network security controls. · Oversee patching, firmware updates, and system compliance checks. · Support Avaya phone systems, mobile device management, and SharePoint administration. Security & Compliance · Implement and enforce network and data security measures. · Support PIPEDA compliance and maintain IT security policies and standards. Technical Support · Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for PCs, printers, networks, and mobile devices. · Maintain the help desk ticketing system and document resolutions. · Diagnose complex issues, recommend solutions, and escalate when needed. Qualifications & Skills · 5+ years of experience in system/network administration or technical support. · Diploma or degree in IT or equivalent experience. · Certifications an asset: MCSE/MCITP, CCNA/CCNP, Azure/AWS, A+. · Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, Exchange Online, Windows Server, AD, WSUS, SQL, and VEEAM. · Skilled in firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and multi-site network environments. · Experience with Hyper-V/VMware, cloud storage, and migration strategies. · Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and communication skills. · Ability to work collaboratively in a multivendor and multi-site IT environment.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
