The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with five operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Mine Operations Labourer to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Operations Labourer is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of various labour tasks required around the mine site.Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a light vehicle of up to a 1-ton truck to travel to and between different work areas in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
  • Operate hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping of the vehicle and work areas while performing various tasks.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks of the light vehicles, and other support equipment such light plants and pumps.
  • Complete logbooks and daily reports on delays.
  • Use two-way-radio, hand, and horn signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • 1+ years of experience in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Heavy equipment operator training or related experience is an asset.
