- Leveraging your subject matter expertise, you will provide process support to the Testing sites by developing, preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Work Instructions (WI) and training materials to ensure consistency and standardization.
- Contributing to training development, you will participate in the creation and implementation of training material and educational sessions, as needed, in collaboration with site Managers to identify and standardize the training needs of Testing staff.
- Utilizing your technical knowledge, you will participate in new projects or initiatives for Testing by providing input and assistance in developing project proposals/plans, business cases, project-related validation scripts, and decision documents, while offering detailed analysis and insights to support the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance safety, cost-effectiveness, standardization, and efficiency.
- Collaborating cross-functionally, you may liaise with other CBS departments (QA/RA, IT, Medical Services, Document Control, and Change Review Boards) as required.
- Drawing on your technical expertise, you will provide support and information to the Testing sites and Head Office departments to facilitate problem-solving and resolution of issues or trends related to methodologies, computer applications, manual and automated testing procedures, equipment, or reagents.
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of Blood Group Serology AB ID Reference Laboratory, Donor Testing or Diagnostic Services laboratory is required.
- An appropriate Provincial Medical Laboratory Technologist License is required.
- Laboratory Science or Advanced Registered Technologist or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English are essential for presentation to all levels of employees.
- Computer skills are essential with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Programs including Access, Excel, Power Point, and Word applications.

- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
- Shift/hours - Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
- Travel requirements - occasional travel required within Canada.
- Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
