- High school diploma / GED / or at least 1-3 years of recent and relevant work history.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability and willingness to lift approximately 35 lbs. regularly.
- Successful previous experience working in a logistics or shipping/receiving work environment.
- Previous experience safely operating forklifts and other shop equipment.
- A high level of attention to detail in juggling multiple duties/responsibilities.
- Must have the ability to work in warehouse/ heavy shop environment.
- Experience, willingness, and ability to work in shop environment and to work various shifts on various days as required, including having a flexible work schedule to perform auditing and training on various shifts.
- The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
- A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
- Pulling material from warehouse for shop use and ensuring material is issued to correct locomotive with all necessary information: position, serial number, removal reason, service sheet.
- Weekly managing stockouts, including obtaining updated ETAs for completely stocked out parts or parts low on stock.
- Performing inventory management via cycle counts and assist/lead the coordination of the Annual physical inventory.
- Forecasting material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives and pulling in any needed material in the timeliest and most cost-efficient manner.
- Performing quality control processes on inbound and outbound shipments to meet company standards including checking shipment documents for discrepancies and resolving potential transportation delays or conflicts.
- Arranging LTL and Expedite shipments using the Ryder portal as well as ensuring correct paperwork is attached to all shipments and correct BOLs are used for proper billing. Ensuring customs documents are requested and obtained prior to shipping when needed.
- Effectively using multiple software programs to order, receive, ship, and track material to and from the warehouse. Including Hazmat material with appropriate shipping documents.
- Compiling reports on various inventory metrics.
- Processing sales of material.
- Retrieving repair cycled assets from shop floor. Including timely and appropriate processing of assets in Oracle to ensure material is repaired and returned to stock quickly.
- Restocking warehouse and shop floor material.
- Performing general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the warehouse.
- Processing warranty claims on any removed core that is warranty eligible.
- Performing daily counts of large commodity assets including verification of serial number and size for both FGI and repair cycle assets.
- Wearing of the proper safety equipment and following all local, Customer and Business procedures is a must.
- Recording of materials transactions such as receiving, distribution and Usage via appropriate system transaction or computer program.
- High understanding Safety awareness and a strong safety culture
- Standing for long periods of time
- Walking on hard and sometimes uneven surfaces throughout the day
- Walking up and down stairs
- Wearing all required personal protective gear (hardhat, steel toe boots, ear plugs, eye protection) throughout the day
- Speaking and hearing
- Typing and operating a computer
- Experienced in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience in Oracle/SAP or other inventory control systems
- Understanding of DOT/TDG Shipping Course Certification
- Ability to obtain Wabtec’s Level 1 Materials Certification in prescribed time from hire (usually 12-18 months)
- Working overnight shifts and multiple days in a row, as required
