- Maintain a visible and active presence on the production floor to proactively monitor compliance with quality and food safety standards
- Verify that employees are consistently following GMP, allergen control, sanitation, and operational procedures in real time
- Intervene immediately when non-compliance is observed to prevent product risk or deviation
- Provide immediate coaching and guidance to correct behaviours before issues escalate
- Ensure quality standards are being followed during production — not simply verified after completion
- Act as a food safety authority within the facility, reinforcing regulatory requirements and company policies
- Escalate repeated or serious non-conformances to management
- Perform in-process and finished product inspections to ensure compliance with product specifications
- Conduct required quality checks including weight verification, visual inspection, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and sensory evaluation
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and document results in accordance with HACCP plans
- Verify allergen controls and sanitation effectiveness
- Conduct environmental and product sampling as required
- Perform other quality and food safety-related duties as assigned by Management to support operational needs
- Complete quality control records accurately and in real time
- Review batch records, production documentation, and lot traceability information
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Maintain records in accordance with SQF and regulatory requirements
- Enforce adherence to SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards
- Conduct GMP audits and sanitation inspections throughout the facility
- Identify non-conformances and initiate deviation reports
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
- Promote a culture of food safety awareness and accountability
- Authorized to stop production if food safety, allergen control, or product integrity is compromised
- Authorized to place product on hold if specifications are not met
- Responsible for proactive identification and prevention of quality risks
- Accountable for ensuring compliance with established food safety systems
- 2–3 years of experience in food manufacturing quality control (bakery experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, and allergen control programs
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to confidently address non-compliance and communicate corrective actions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required
- 24-hour production facility operating Monday through Friday
- Shift work required
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs
