
Casual Paratransit Operators - Regina

- Safely and courteously assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle.
- Operate Paratransit vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
- Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.
- Maintains a strong attendance record.
- Possess a functional knowledge of the demographics of the service area.
- Notifies dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble.
- Free full-time training.
- Hourly pay between $17.55 and $26.01.

- You have a valid SK Class 4 Unrestricted license.
- You have a clear driver abstract and adherence to safety regulations.
- Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
- You have strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to read maps, interpret transit operating rules and policies.
- You have the ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
- You have physical ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections, assist passengers and must be able to lift 50lbs..
- You are able to pass vulnerable records check and drug/alcohol testing.
- This is a casual, unionized position located in Regina (SK).
- Shifts are subject to frequent changes based on operational needs.
- Transit environment: early, split, late, weekends and holidays shifts may be required.
