- Leading meetings, maintaining RAIL, and taking meeting minutes
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards
- Assisting the project controller with labour forecasting, project schedules, and earned-value management
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and team members, and provide regular Project status updates to stakeholders
- Monitor and report on Project progress, identifying and resolving issues and risks as they arise
- Providing guidance to the technical team
- Providing stamping/authentication on drawings, reports, and other project deliverables is a requirement
- Maintain overall project QA/QC & performance
- Interface with customers and vendors on technical issues
- Produce or lead the production of detailed design documentation that meets the technical and quality standards of the project requirements
- Support proposal development and participate in customer presentations as required
- Share lessons learned, risks, and opportunities with other team members
- Make decisions and recommendations within established guidelines, procedures, or policies
- Prepare technical or project reports
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Certifications: P.Eng is required for the province of Alberta (APEGA). British Columbia (EGBC) registration is considered an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in technical engineering or project engineering, with a strong focus on managing multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scope from $1M-$50M TIC or $50,000 – $500,000 in engineering services.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial/facilities engineering: process systems, piping, equipment installation, power distribution, PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, commissioning practices, and construction methodologies is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of EIC or Mechanical engineering principles, including design and construction processes.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage 5-10 small projects at a time, with effective prioritization and organizational skills.
- Site Travel: Availability for site visits across Canada and the USA, typically 1-2 times per quarter.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong command of English, both written and verbal.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
