The organization is recognized for its award-winning products and has recently expanded its focus to support the marine industry's transition toward an electrified future.As part of continued growth, our client is seeking a passionate Test Technologist to join their Marine engineering team in Vancouver, BC. This role reports to the Test Engineering Leader and supports the development and validation of hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.About the Vancouver FacilityThe Vancouver site serves as the organization's marine headquarters in Canada and focuses on the development and manufacturing of advanced hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical systems. The facility supports both product innovation and production operations.Position OverviewAs a Test Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring that testing activities are executed efficiently using representative samples and appropriate throughput. You will be responsible for test execution, documentation, data analysis, and continuous improvement of testing methods, equipment, and processes.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare test samples and fixtures
- Conduct, document, and report product tests
- Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations
- Create and maintain test databases
- Perform preliminary data analysis and basic statistical evaluations
- Prepare technical test reports and documentation
- Maintain, calibrate, and modify test equipment
- Assist with sensor selection and integration
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing methods and equipment
- Complete additional assigned duties (up to 15% of time)

- Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience
- Experience with common measurement gauges and hand tools
- Experience in accelerated product testing
- Root cause analysis and failure mode identification
- Designing and building hydraulic fluid power systems
- Experience with measurement systems and software (preferably Dewesoft)
- Dataset analysis and basic statistical techniques
- Wiring and troubleshooting control cabinets and PLCs
- Ability to read and interpret technical standards
- Familiarity with manufacturing and coating processes
- Experience working with metals and engineering plastics
