Story Behind the Need:
  • The position will be responsible for supporting a strategic transformation workstream as well as other projects as required.
Typical Day in Role:
  • Leading supplier contract renewal negotiations.
  • Proactively working with Business Line contract owners to understand business needs.
  • Build renewal strategy for pipeline of contract renewals.
  • Build an overall supplier contract strategy with consideration for consolidation and reduction of contracts where opportunity exists.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
  • Minimum of 10+ years progressive sourcing experience
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical, contract and financial issues and use them to inform the creation of effective supplier strategies.
  • Ability to impact and influence stakeholders, including Senior Executives.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with IT contracting.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Previous financial services experience is preferred
  • Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred
  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) preferred
  • Global sourcing experience preferred

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field an asset

  • An ideal candidate would be a self-starter with previous experience working on transformation projects.
