- Analyze new and/or modified system or structure designs to assess technical engineering impacts and propose EMC compliance approaches. Review/approve the associated technical engineering documents such as test plans, test procedures, analysis reports and test reports. Verify compliance with certification regulations.
- Help drive the resolution of electromagnetic related issues to support EMC certification and sustaining activities including production support and in-service activities.
- Lead complex engineering assignments related to EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatics including performing detailed analyses using similarity assessments, simulation, and/or analytical methods.
- Define scope of work for EMC effort of major/complex technical/engineering projects, estimate the level of effort, plan activities/milestones, highlights technical risks, and execute tasks according to priorities.
- Support creation and updating of aircraft, system, and structure level technical requirements for EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatics.
- Provide technical EMC guidance and support to collaborative R&D teams (universities, industry) in solving issues related to Electromagnetics and driving activities to completion.
- Represent the EMC team at multidisciplinary meetings. Engage with internal and external suppliers, partners, and clients.
- Propose, drive and support knowledge capture initiatives. Support identification and closure of knowledge and skills gaps.
- Provide technical EMC guidance to junior team members and interns. Act as technical EMC lead on projects, supervising the technical work of junior team members and interns. Coach, mentor, and train new employees in the EMC team.
- Identify and implement improvements to Bombardier processes and best practices.
- Support and witness EMC tests in Canada, United States and Europe as needed.
- Prepare aircraft level EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatic Discharge test procedures, oversee testing, and generate test reports.
- Prepare Certification Design Compliance Reports.
- You hold a degree in Physics, in Electrical Engineering or in Engineering Sciences. Masters or PhD degree is preferred.
