- Provide proactive, quality financial analysis for Travel & Expense data with value-added commentary on key trends and compliance to expense policy
- Provide advisory support to business partners and respond to ad hoc request for business analysis
- Provide thought leadership and recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvement
- Drive special projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including assisting with policy education
- Proactively identify financial opportunities or issues, conduct the necessary analysis to develop options, and offer well-supported recommendations to management
- Currently enrolled in second or third year of an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field; with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions)
- Experience in Risk Management, Compliance, and/or Audit would be an asset
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities – ability to consolidate inputs into clear, concise analysis and ultimately business decisions
- Excellent analytical, logical, and organizational skills are required – able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations, and recommendations to management (turns complexity into insight)
- Proven ability to think conceptually (use numbers to tell a story) and develop insights from complex data and communicate results
- Resourceful with a keen intellectual curiosity to ask questions about the business and understand the key drivers behind the results
- Previous experience in expense management and financial analysis is an asset
- Process-oriented with a focus on development, improvement/enhancement, and transparency
- High competency level with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Experience with Hyperion, Oracle Business Intelligence, Alteryx, and Tableau are considered an asset
- Ability to effectively work under tight timelines and prioritize deliverables to ensure that deadlines are met
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to see expense opportunities warranting further review and analysis
- This position is a 4-month work term and will commence September 8th to December 18th, 2026.
