If this opportunity in Prince George, BC speaks to you, this might just be your calling.As a Certified Instrument Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:
- Installation: Install control and measurement instruments, including transmitters, controllers, sensors, and ensure proper wiring to communicate with the DCS.
- Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on pneumatic and electronic systems, including instrumentation equipment and site analyzers.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults using diagnostic devices and precision measuring instruments; perform regular field and programming adjustments.
- Calibration: Calibrate instruments to meet manufacturer specifications and ensure reliable, accurate readings.
- Documentation: Complete test and maintenance reports and manage work orders in electronic systems such as CMMS or SAP.
- Programming: Maintain and troubleshoot Delta V hardware and software.
- Safety: Follow Canfor’s safe work and lockout procedures, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Journeyperson Instrument Mechanic certification with Interprovincial Red Seal.
- Proficiency with electrical, electronic, and pneumatic testing devices.
- Experience with DCS, instrumentation, valves and valve repairs, transmitter installation and calibration.
- Ability to interpret manufacturer manuals, circuit diagrams, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CMMS or SAP for managing maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in hazardous environments.
- Knowledge of the pulp and paper industry and/or electrical trade background.
