Job Description:There's no pledge more important than the one we make to look after our environment, and we're committed to helping you do exactly that.Who are we looking for?Due to continuing growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Engagement and Social Sustainability Consultant with experience in stakeholder engagement, Indigenous engagement and / or social research to join our new Engagement and Social Sustainability team in Western Canada. This role can be based out of our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver office.Bring your curiosity and passion to the technical challenges we solve at GHD.   • Supporting a global team to prepare best practice social impact assessments and strategic plans to deliver for both clients and communities.
  • Meaningfully engaging a range of communities and stakeholders on infrastructure and planning projects.
  • Building relationships with Indigenous stakeholders.
  • Guiding our internal and external clients on topics, challenges or opportunities relating to Indigenous communities.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Business development activities and support our portfolio to grow.
  • Preparing and issuing proposals.
  • Project management, including cost control.
  • Global technical mentorship opportunities, working with leading social practitioners from across the world.
  • Other duties as required
What you will bring to this role:
  • Relevant qualifications in Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' experience.
  • Experience in preparing social impact assessment, developing social performance plans, or conducting social research.
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis, including statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience working with communities and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including experience engaging people on challenging or complex topics.
  • Experience preparing and delivering engagement plans and strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Focused on growing the practice and expanding clientele under the direction of the Team Lead and Business Group Leader
  • A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
