Position Summary:This position will primarily be scheduled during junior tennis programming hours (evenings and weekends). This position is estimated to be scheduled 10-15 hours per week but is based on the junior tennis program’s needs. This position is intended for an experienced tennis professional with a passion for teaching the sport.This role pays an hourly rate of $30.00 CADBenefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matchingEVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline About the Venue:Youngs Sportsplex consists of four indoor tennis courts, one indoor full-size soccer field (divisible into three small-sided fields), three outdoor full size artificial turf soccer fields, and two outdoor full-size grass soccer fields. Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and delivery of high quality, safe, and stimulating tennis programs for all levels of junior participants.
  • This role will primarily involve the on-court instruction of youth tennis players.
  • Keep current with tennis industry trends and best practices for instruction.
  • Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and respond proactively.
  • Ensure strong participant retention rates and strive to grow junior tennis program participation
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of tennis coaching/instructional experience.
  • 'Instructor' level certification with the OTA (Ontario Tennis Association)
  • Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) certifications are considered an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR/AED, police vulnerable sector check required.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, multi-task, and effectively prioritized in a continuously changing environment.
