Our client in the steel distributor industry is hiring an Inside Sales Representative to join their team in Delta, BC. Pay Range: $50k to $65k/year plus commissionWhat's the Job?
  • Produce quotations in written or verbal form to customers that are accurate and easy to understand
  • Generate orders and follow them through the sales system to make sure they arrive to the customer as quoted
  • Follow the branch read back procedure when entering orders to ensure accurate order entry
  • Excellent communication through various means (phone, email, fax and when needed in person)
  • Take inbound inquiries through phone, fax and email
  • Make outbound sales phone calls and emails to grow customer business
  • Follow up on orders of certain value given by the Inside Sales Supervisor, this is a daily requirement
  • Capable of servicing customer inquiries, which are sometimes difficult and require a high degree of skill, tact and good judgment
  • Work with other departments in the company to fulfill customer needs, these departments include: management, sales, shipping, receiving, processing and credit
  • Knows company procedures so as to effectively schedule customer deliveries
  • Adheres to company sales procedures and guidelines
  • Maintains line of communication with branch Inside Sales Supervisor, suggests changes in pricing, suggests items that should be stocked and brings up any issues internal or external as to not disrupt the flow of the branch
  • Informs the Inside Sales Supervisor of items that are out of stock that need to be replenished
  • Works with outside sales representatives to grow customers and find new opportunities
What's Needed?
  • A minimum of 2 years' previous B2B Sales in a corporate setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of metal distributor, construction materials, or heavy duty equipment industries is an asset.
  • Must be motivated and a self-starter.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong active listening and customer service acumen.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments in order to get customer requirements in place.
  • Moderate computer skills with the ability to type more than 40 wpm.
  • Time management is essential.
