The Intermediate Software Tester will work as part of a team to provide QA expertise to deliver software-based systems, working independently on a wide range of QA tasks within a with minimal supervision.We currently have two roles available for contracts we expect to last two years, with an initial time period of 4 months and subsequent renewals based on performance and client authorizations. The Intermediate Software Tester must either have or be able to obtain a secret-level security clearance granted by PSPC. Th role will work a standard 37.5-hour work week, and work primarily from home with occasional in-office days as requested by our client.Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates with developers and other team members to analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create detailed test plans/cases
  • Determines what to automate and what to test manually
  • Designs, develops and maintains automated testing scripts using Java, Gherkin, and Cucumber
  • Implements and executes Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices to enhance test coverage and reliability
  • Identifies, documents and tracks software defects
  • Conducts root cause analysis on software defects
  • Familiarity with existing TCMS (Test Case Management Software) systems
  • Helps others including mentoring less experienced staff by providing guidance and constructive criticism. Accepts constructive feedback from team members about work output.
  • Estimates and gives feedback on schedules for assigned tasks.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of their technical area.
  • Takes ownership to ensure their own work robustly meets specified requirements.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in QA roles within the software development industry
  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR two-year Diploma in a relevant field with additional experience.
  • Has or is able to quickly obtain a secret-level security clearance.
