- Direct day-to-day field operations for communications systems construction, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to approved specifications.
- Coordinate and execute work in accordance with engineering drawings, approved submittals, and project requirements.
- Prepare and manage work schedules in coordination with Site Engineers/Coordinators and under the direction of the Package or Segment Manager.
- Coordinate work sequencing and site activities with adjacent segments, subsystems, and construction representatives to maintain schedule alignment.
- Interface with project managers, engineers, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues and maintain project alignment.
- Assist with interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews, facilitating technical clarifications with design and engineering teams.
- Provide field-level problem solving, identify risks, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence to monitor progress, manage issues, and support field execution.
- Complete daily field reports and maintain accurate documentation using project control systems.
- Take all necessary steps to maintain a safe working environment and ensure the safety integrity of all activities undertaken by crews and subcontractors.
- Lead and actively participate in safety programs including inspections, onboarding, hazard assessments (JHA/FLHA/SWP), near-miss reporting, and incident investigations.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine root cause and preventative measures.
- Maintain accountability for safety performance within the assigned scope of work.
- Oversee installation quality and ensure all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify, report, and track non-conformances, coordinating corrective actions with Field Engineers or management as required.
- Promote environmental stewardship by integrating environmental controls into work Assist in developing and managing budgets, cost estimates, and efficiency analyses.
- Coordinate material procurement, equipment logistics, and site readiness for specialized communications system installations.
- Establish crew productivity targets and expected hours for specific tasks, managing shift durations and implementing controls to prevent overruns.
- Review and approve timesheets, ensuring alignment between hours worked and work completed.
- Lead, mentor, and coach multiple crews, foremen, and subcontractors across active work fronts or simultaneous sites.
- Foster strong, professional relationships with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to support project success.
- Provide clear, timely updates on progress, risks, and changes to management and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with field coordination teams to schedule and support survey, concrete, quality, safety, and environmental inspections.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the project team as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience), and typically 8+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
