Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Analyst (DBA) to support and lead a large-scale Oracle database environment (~4TB) for a high-priority client engagement. This role will play a critical part in maintaining, optimizing, and evolving enterprise database platforms while contributing to future-state planning, including a major platform migration initiative. The successful candidate will work within a globally distributed team, collaborating closely with onsite infrastructure teams in Mississauga and offshore teams in India.Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 19c environments running on Solaris 11.4 / SPARC (non-RAC)
- Support mission-critical systems including online applications, APIs, and overnight batch processing workloads
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and high system availability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing database-related initiatives and enhancements
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the database roadmap, including preparation for future platform migration to Oracle 26 AI on Linux (targeted for 2027)
- Manage and support data replication, integration, and reporting platforms across multiple technologies
- Work with colocation datacenters and distributed infrastructure environments
- Ensure database performance tuning, indexing, and configuration optimization across supported systems
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 19c (Solaris/SPARC environments preferred)
- Proven experience supporting large-scale databases (multi-terabyte, ~4TB or larger)
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for replication and data movement
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019 (clustered environments)
- Exposure to AWS database services including MySQL Aurora and Redshift
- Experience with data integration and analytics tools such as Qlik (Attunity Replicate) and MicroStrategy
- Familiarity with IBM DB2 (particularly within IBM ELM environments)
- Strong experience in production support, incident management, and performance tuning
- Experience supporting BPM/workflow applications and related database ecosystems
- Oracle certifications such as OCA, OCP, or equivalent are strongly preferred
- Experience in financial services or similarly regulated, high-availability environments is an asset
- Experience in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution
- Prior exposure to large-scale database transformation or migration projects is highly desirable
- Architectural-level experience is considered a strong asset
