The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has openings for a sessional instructor for the Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.ENGN 1410 - Sustainability in Engineering DesignThis course introduces the principles of sustainability in engineering design as they relate to the interactions among humans, living systems, the natural environment and the engineered world. Physical, chemical, biological, ecological, social, economic and life-cycle concepts, and their relevance to sustainable engineering design, are emphasized. 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab per weekThis appointment is for 2 lab sections.Qualifications:Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, would be considered a strong asset. Professional engineering experience is expected and will be an important consideration in the selection process. Being registered as a Professional Engineer in Prince Edward Island is considered an asset.Registration as a P.Eng or EIT with Engineers PEI is considered an asset.Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.Application Instructions:Applications must include a cover letter and resume specifying academic qualifications, relevant teaching and professional experience, and the contact info for three references.Submit application to:Dr. Suzanne Kresta, Dean
