As someone with excellent communication skills and business acumen, you will thrive in our fast-paced and agile environment.Your opportunityDillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking for a Junior Noise Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available at any of the following Dillon offices: Guelph, Kitchener or Toronto.Responsibilities:What your day will look likeProject Coordination & Technical Development (89%)
  • Coordinate and assist with professional acoustics, noise and vibration services for facilities, including power generating facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities, transportation projects, etc.
  • Provide technical support on project work including monitoring, modelling, development of abatement strategies, and regulatory liaison
Business Development (5%)
  • Assist with business development for acoustics, noise and vibration services including proposal development and client liaison
  • Business travel as required
Learning & Development (6%)
  • A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Qualifications:What you will need to succeed
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • At least one year of related work experience
  • Licensed / eligible to be licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • Flexibility to travel throughout Canada for periods of one to three weeks, as required
Experience:
  • Experience in the following areas of service:
  • Environmental noise
  • Land development assessment
  • Noise monitoring
  • Vibration monitoring and assessment
  • Noise and vibration mitigation
  • Knowledge of acoustic assessment study requirements and facility permit procedures
  • An understanding of federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to noise issues
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality, solution-oriented consulting services
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills
