The Pharmacy Student will support a variety of research projects and quality improvement initiatives, while also gaining valuable clinical exposure. Opportunities may include shadowing pharmacists during their clinical activities, such as conducting Best Possible Medication History (BPMH) interviews, assisting with medication reconciliation, researching and responding to drug information inquiries, and attending interprofessional team rounds.Key Responsibilities
  • Support and contribute to ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives for the advancement of pharmacy practice and patient care.
  • Assist in the preparation of educational materials, presentations, and reports related to medication safety and clinical practice improvement.
  • Participate in educational initiatives aimed at clinical staff, including developing or delivering content on safe medication practices and policy updates.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather accurate Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMHs).
  • Address drug information requests using evidence-based resources and clinical guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and safety within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Self-motivation, excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer skills that include the ability to work with Microsoft Office Software including word, excel, and outlook.
